BookBook for iPhone 5/5s
Frequently Asked Questions
Is BookBook for iPhone 5 compatible with the new iPhone 5s?
Yes, BookBook for iPhone 5 is fully compatible with the recently released iPhone 5s.
What is the benefit to keeping my iPhone in a BookBook?
Keeping your iPhone in this little book means you have one less thing to grab on the way out the door and one less item to stuff in your pockets or purse. BookBook for iPhone is a wallet and case packaged into one well designed, pocket-size book. It’s an easy way to simplify your life. And if you ever misplace your wallet, you can use 'Find My iPhone' to find it!
So if I lose my BookBook, I lose my iPhone and wallet at the same time?
No - just the opposite in fact. With your iPhone in a BookBook, you've just attached a GPS to your wallet! Simply use "Find My iPhone" to locate your wallet in seconds. In many ways, your cards and ID are more secure in BookBook because now you have a way to find them - before somebody else does.
When my iPhone is in BookBook for iPhone 5, my voice sounds muffled to the people I'm talking to. Why is this happening?
The iPhone 5 has a noise-cancelling microphone, located on the back between the camera and flash. In environments with background noise, if this microphone is covered, it will cause your voice to sound muffled. If your listener finds your voice muffled, open the cover slightly to allow the noise-cancelling microphone to work more effectively. This will be true for all cases with a front cover that folds back on itself when the iPhone is in use.
If you have upgraded your iPhone 5 to iOS7, there is an additional solution. The noise-canceling microphone can be disabled by going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Phone Noise Cancelation. Switching this OFF will prevent any interference of the sound from that rear-facing Mic.
What's the difference between the VIntage Brown and Ledger Brown BookBooks?
Both the Vintage Brown and Ledger Brown BookBook for iPhone 5/5s have the same brown distressed leather exterior, but have slightly different spines. See below for a side-by-side view of both versions.
Will BookBook for iPhone 5 work with my iPhone 4 or 4S?

Can I access the controls and charge/sync my iPhone inside BookBook?
Yes. You can access all controls on your phone while it’s in BookBook and you can charge/sync your iPhone with the wallet open or closed. Unlike bumper style cases, there are no frames to get in your way.
How many cards and how much cash can BookBook for iPhone hold?
BookBook for iPhone 5 can comfortably hold four to five cards, along with a couple folded bills of cash, receipts or business cards inside the vertical pocket.
What's the easiest way for me to take my iPhone out of BookBook?
To remove your iPhone from BookBook, simply bend the two top corners of the case back until the iPhone releases from the frame, slide your fingers behind your iPhone and pull it out of the case.
Will the iPhone demagnetize my credit cards?
No. BookBook for iPhone 5 does not contain any magnets whatsoever. The iPhone does not create or use magnetic material of any appreciable size either. If it did, it would interfere with the iPhone’s own internal Compass. Apple even warns against using any case with magnets. Finally, the notion that a cell phone could ever erase the magnetic strip on a credit card may be more myth than reality. Extensive internal testing has reaffirmed, credit cards will not be erased by being held in close proximity to your iPhone in a BookBook.
The cover of my BookBook for iPhone 5 won't lay flat, is this normal?
Just like a pair of leather shoes, the cover of your BookBook for iPhone 5 will "break in" over time to lay flat. One way to expedite this process is to lay your BookBook front cover down whenever you place your BookBook on a table or flat surface.
